(Note: Late 2009 & Mid 2010 A1278 models did not support backlighting—keyboard will still function, but lighting requires compatible hardware.) Build & Fit: Precision-molded frame with correct screw mounts and alignment pegs—ensures flush, secure installation in the original top case with no rattling. Installation: Keyboard is screw-mounted (no adhesive)—one of the most DIY-friendly MacBook keyboards. Requires top case access and battery disconnect.
